Congratulations to Prof. Emanuel Peled on winning the 2019 Eric and Sheila Samson Prime Minister's Prize for Innovation in Alternative Fuels for Transportation
Prof. Emanuel Peled from the Department of Physical Chemistry
The prize has been awarded to Prof. Emanuel Peled for his impressive contribution to the understanding of highly reactive systems, such as lithium and lithium ion batteries, to the development of highly effective direct methanol fuel cells, and to the field of electrocatalysis for fuel cells.
Prof. Peled is a world leading scientist in the field of batteries and fuel cells. For his achievements in the field of power sources, he was awarded the Electrochemical Society Battery Division Research, the Landau research, the International Battery Associations (IBA), the Israel Chemical Society Outstanding Scientist Award and the Award of Commander of MAFAT for Creative Thinking. He was elected as Fellow of the Electrochemical Society and of the International Society of Electrochemistry.
