September 2020: Ben-David wins SCGC prize

Dr. Uri Ben-David, Edmond J. Safra affiliate (Medicine) won a prize in the TAU Single Cell Genomics Core (SCGC) contest.

The SCGC is a state-of-the-art facility at TAU for single cell analysis and genomics research. The core is working closely with TAU researchers to customize experiments to meet their needs.

In SCGC Single Cell Contest, 11 proposals from TAU faculties and affiliated hospitals were submitted, describing innovative experimental plans to advance research using single cell sequencing. Dr. Ben David and his colleague Prof. Adi Barzel (Life Sciences) won the prize for proposing to explore on-target effects of CRISPR-Cas9 editing. Using single cell RNA sequencing, they want to characterize the prevalence and nature of chromosomal losses and loss-of-heterozygosity induced by CRISPR-Cas9 gene-editing of human T cells.
