Prof. Shiri Artstein-Avidan from the department of Pure Mathematics

Congratulations to Prof. Shiri Artstein-Avidan  (from the School of Mathematical Sciences) for winning a research grant from the European Research Council.

The European Research and Development program launched in 2007, focuses on funding excellence in scientific research. The ERC awards very large research grants (3.5 - 4.5 million Euro) on the basis of clear scientific excellence. In recent years this program has become one of the key funding sources for researchs in Israel, and faculty members from all institutions of higher education are submitting research proposals. The success rate for ERC grants is, therefore, a measure of excellence in scientific institutions in the country.

The award to our faculty member reflect the high international standing of research in the School of Mathematical Sciences.
